Tour Description

I will meet you at your hotel in the morning at the appointed time ,It will take about 2.5 hours to get to the Jinshanling Great Wall . cablecar is available on this site ,so you can take a cable car up to the Great Wall. I suggest you choose to climb up the mountain as it is quite easy to walk up to the Great Wall and start hike on the Great Wall . 2--4 hours will be spent hiking on the Great Wall with your guide escorted.

Lunch is not included .I will recommend local restaurants if you want to have lunch there. After lunch, transfer you back to your hotel.

Jinshanling Great Wall is situated on the Big and Small Jinshanling Mountains, hence its name.It connects to the Simatai Section of the wall in the east and Gubeikou section in the west. It is the most representative part of the Great Wall.It is known for its uniquely complex structure and densely distributed watch towers.

This section has the total length of 10 kilometers. It has 67 watchtowers, 3 beacon towers, and 5 passes. They are densely distributed along the wall,The watchtowers differ in size ,shape and construction materials. Some of them are made of bricks and wood, while others are made of bricks and stone. Some has one storey, while others have two or three.

Travel Tips

1.Jinshanling Great Wall currently has two gates: the Front Gate (West Gate) and the East Gate . Visitors can climb up via West Gate ,start hiking from Zhuanduokou Pass ,to reach Kylin Screen Wall,Finally, you go down the mountain and exit through the east gate. The route is about 4 miles (7km), and it takes about 4 hours to complete. The hike from West Gate to East Gate (most close to Simatai Great Wall ) is the most challenging, favored by Great Wall hikers.

2.There is a cableway up to the east section of Jinshanling Great Wall. If you take a cable car up, you will skip over 5 watch towers.

3. this site is very easy to walk up to the Great Wall.so Taking Cable Car is unnecessary if you have a good health and no walking problem.

4.if you can not manage the 3--4 hours hike from West Gate to East Gate . you can choose the second option : climb up to the mountain ,start hike from Zhuanduokou Pass ,get to the upper cable car station after a few towers ,take the cablecar down .
